After almost an year,i have finally found the inspiration (and time :P) to update this space. And it couldnt be for a more apt reason.
So last week in office i heard a colleague saying "people write blogs to show-off". Saying that it could have been an off-handed remark is the closest i can come to being unbiased abt that-now.But at that instant I couldnt stop myself from arguing. My first reaction was "how can u even think like that. How shallow are you. Just because u are not literary-inclined doesnt mean u undermine the thousands of bloggers who write for nothing but their own pleasure.Blogging is to share ideas,noone is forced to read or write a blog..its ones' free will".
And then,given the office environment- it seemed to be turning into an heated discussion so we both backed off.But i could not stop thinking about it."show off"..like seriously??? how could anyone say that...I was appalled. But then I thought---one writes keeping in mind the fact that someone is going to read it.And once having written something...appreciation is always welcome.Lets accept it...appreciation,acceptance,limelight,recognition are the underlying reasons for most things that we attempt to do in life.yes,thr are things we like and do selflessly,but still we all like to be appreciated for them. So there is nothing wrong about it-- it is,according to me-common human emotion.People who consider themselves (and if they actually are) above such emotions are truly great.They probably have found their true calling in life.But for us mere mortals...we write cz we like to,and we'd like others to like it too!!!!!!!!!!
