Never Again!

It’s one of those Saturday’s which has been PURE LAZY, for no better reason that you were too bored to plan anything to do. Evening approaches, realization sinks that more that 50% of the week end is over, and  then you have this sudden inkling to something “fun”.

The simplest option – Bokmyshow! Look for a movie you actually wanted to watch – Hyderabad limits your choice to “choose”  (the scarcity of theatres playing Hindi/English movies is worse than the water scarcity in the deserts of Rajasthan). So without much-a-do, we look at the closest theatre (5kms away) – 2 options of Hollywood movies are shown - (one was sold out) , checked the trailer of the other movie – which looked good enough to pep-up a Saturday night. We call 2 more friends, ask them to join (they agree - unsuspectingly!) and voila – 4 tickets of the lame-est movie in a long time – wait for us in our Gmail account!

And this is one of those movies where all the funny dialogues are part of the 3 minute trailer. And no exaggeration - its exactly these scenes that are funny. And that is all! Add additional 10 minutes of context setting for the funny scenes – and there you have it : A full 13 minutes of smiles in a 94 minute “comedy movie” . Like seriously, this just made the Saturday even worse!!!

In entirety, the actors did a decent job of the scenes they were given, I would blame the script for the fall. The writer has tried to put everything from teen-age romance, family management, eccentric CEOs, new-age kids and their exposure to and knowledge of all the new devices & Apps and the trouble that can put adults into, ferocious dogs, nosy friends and the philosophy of living a happy life into a single plot and has failed -Miserably.

I am by nature a critic of things around , not a movie buff by any standard and this one just blew my fuse off! Glad it was not a long movie, and “Tape” got over soon! Adios!
